Seasonal rentals: between reservations and bans

PROHIBITIONS UNTIL THE END OF CONTAINMENT

Many city dwellers came to spend this period of confinement in their second homes. To avoid abuse at this special moment when the general government order is: "Do not move", the prefecture of the Pyrénées Atlantiques had published a prefectural decree prohibiting the opening to the public of hotels as well as the seasonal rentals of furnished tourist accommodation. This ban has just been extended until May 11, when the lockdown is announced. This ban is valid for all the coastal municipalities of the Basque Coast, from Anglet to Hendaye via Biarritz, Bidart, Guéthary, Saint Jean de Luz, Ciboure and Urrugne. The city of Bayonne is also concerned.
